contemptable?

We all know what it is to be sold to or sold out to an idea or doctrine by way of preaching.

Writings can be readily good because one is able to interact without getting emotionally involved.

Preaching is far more dangerous than writing and especially so if the speaker is persuasive and good at what the preacher does. Hitler for a wild example was persuasive when he spoke even though the content was crazy and controling. There is an inherent foolishness about preaching. The Spirit of God [has] chosen to utilize preaching but we do well to never become a clone to anyone or to any doctrine.

Paul was more persuasive than any other Apostle. Paul said my writings are strong but my speech is contemptable. Listen to this one. King Agrippa said to him; Paul you almost persuade me to be a Christian! That's contemptable in a way that we would generally describe as this, boy you're good Paul. Paul's speech was contemptable [because] he was so persuasive, that's what I see. His writings were [strong] because one can interact with writings without emotional involvement although the content of his writings was the same as his preaching.

Ponder this.

If by [persuasion] a man is convinced, he becomes a clone of the one who's preaching or teaching. That's a contemptable thing and reveals the foolishness of preaching.

The more persuasive a man is, the less the Spirit of the Lord gets involved. This is sad but it's a truism. The glory of the flesh and power of the Spirit do not mix, we do well to bear this in mind.

This is what I do know; "Not by might nor by power but by my Spirit saith the Lord!" If the Spirit of the Lord does not perform a thing in men and women, it all becomes just more religious hanky-panky.

Without knowing it at the time, most of us had become clones of persuasive and controling men in pulpits. This is a contemptable process of lording it over another human being by the persuasiveness of the mind.

The speaking itself becomes contemptable at this juncture. Some observant person has properly called this brain-washing. An extremely good sales-person can sell you a GM product when you really would rather have a Ford.

The process of becoming [unconvinced] once one has been [convinced] can be a very troubled and hard time to get through. There is more to get through than the rejection.

Add to me, my friends.
