The article below was written by Stanislav Mishin, a blogger and columnist for the Russian newspaper Pravda.
American capitalism gone with a whimper . . . . .
It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.
True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.
Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters.
First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in DC that directly affects their lives. They care more for their "right" to choke down a McDonalds burger or a BurgerKing burger than for their constitutional rights. Then they turn around and lecture us (Russia) about our rights and about our "democracy". Pride blinds the foolish.
Then their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different "branches and denominations" were for the most part little more then Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega preachers were more then happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the "winning" side of one pseudo Marxist politician or another. Their flocks may complain, but when explained that they would be on the "winning" side, their flocks were ever so quick to reject Christ in hopes for earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox (Russian Orthodox) churches are scandalously liberalized in America.
The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.
These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more than ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?
These men, of course, are not an elected panel but made up of appointees picked from the very financial oligarchs and their henchmen who are now gorging themselves on trillions of American dollars, in one bailout after another. They are also usurping the rights, duties and powers of the American congress (parliament). Again, congress has put up little more then a whimper to their masters.
Then came Barack Obama's command that GM's (General Motor) president step down from leadership of his company. That is correct, dear reader, in the land of "pure" free markets, the American president now has the power, the self given power, to fire CEOs and we can assume other employees of private companies, at will. Come hither, go dither, the centurion commands his minions.
So it should be no surprise that the American president has followed this up with a "bold" move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies. I am sure that if given the chance, they would happily try and redesign it for the whole of the world, too. Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.
Again, the American public has taken this with barely a whimper...but a "freeman" whimper.
So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set "fair" maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.
The Russian owners of American companies and industries should look thoughtfully at this and the option of closing their facilities down and fleeing the land of the Red as fast as possible. In other words, divest while there is still value left.
The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.
What Marxism is, is the carnal knowledge of Spiritual truth. Great abuse of this type thing occurs at times and we saw this in Russia and other places such as North Korea and China. China is reforming while Russia fell.
We came from a religious group that will fall as well or come to serious reform and for the same reasons.
[Legalism at every juncture is merely the carnal knowledge of spiritial truths].
Carl Marx was originally a Jew who converted to Christianity. His goal [in theory] was to create a soceity where men and women would prefer others over and above themselves by all sharing of their goods and monies equally, i.e. communal living. The Huderites who are an anabaptist spin off, practice this today by the same pattern of the Jerusalem church.
The Jerusalem church was the pattern with Carl Marx as well.
We must say at this point; what occurred in the early Jerusalem church was spontaneous in nature! They sold what they had and shared it with one other spontaneousely, not by external pressure. Ananias and Saphirra got caught in this mix and actually lied to Peter about the full measure of their properities. The thing was so pure in motive in Jerusalem at the time that this couple fell dead upon Peter speaking of their lie.
As soon as a Spiritual truth becomes a thing of applied pressure, it goes crazy or awry. Working death, it now comes to naught! It's own judgment is built right into it's very fabric! Finally it's a futile thing to have carnal knowledge of a Spiritual truth for the reason to self-apply it. If we are walking in the Spirit we are walking spontaneousely! To walk by knowledge of Spiritual truth is to walk contrived. This contrivance is what brought Russia done, it wasn't actually Reagan.
Judgment is built right into the fabric of the lower contrived thing. The higher thing is destined to supercede the lower thing! The Spirit of God literally wins!
For the material mind to apply Spiritual knowledge to our personal lives actually does a despite to the Spirit of Grace! Death dealing judgments are built into this; religious energies and inuendos begin to manifest.
The religious energy is the fore-runner of it's judgment. If the Spirit of the Lord is mixed into this type thing literally hundreds of years can go by before a serious judgment occurs.
When a sufficient degree of the Spirit of Grace is present in the earth, our Democtatic Republics of law will be superceded and taken over by Christ Jesus! Then we shall see what actually was [instead of Christ] or what the anti-christ spirit actually was!
Both the freedoms of our democracy and the laws of our Rebublic are the carnal knowledge of Spiritual truths! Democracy is going world-wide. That's the one world government brfore Christ-rule!
"The kingdoms of this world will become the Kingdom of Christ and His Lord!" The anti-christ will be overcome by the real Christ wherein the unconditional Love of God will rule this planet!
Are we on the side-lines or are we involved? Are we carnal in the matters of truth or are we Spiritual in these matters?
May the serious reader put on the thinking cap and reread! Pray for soundness of mind!
Mishin makes some good points about ignoring the classics, the pop culture, and fast food craze. But I dont agree with much else in this article.
30 years ago the government bailed out Chrysler, and that turned out pretty good for Chrysler as well as our nation. Our manufacturing base needs competition, not only among themselves, but to compete against the world market. So Im wondering if Mishin thinks we should have let GM fail, or if he thinks the entity that bails them out should not hold them accountable.
I believe it is necessary for GM to move in a different direction. A CEO who has pushed gas guzzlers when we are facing a global energy and environmental crises is probably not the person to take charge of that new direction. I think it was a wise move.
I get tired of all this fear mongering about socialism. Our country has been a mixture of Capitalism and Socialism every since the great depression. The balance between those two vary from administration to administration, and every time a small adjustment is made back toward the socialism side (usually to compensate for errors brought on by unregulated capitalism) we hear this outcry from the propagandist.
Over the last several decades, the disparity between the working person and the privileged person has been widening. Where the CEO of a company used to make only 20 times what the janitor made, it has become more like 500. The greed that is spawned by the availability to earn more money than can ever be enjoyed has been somewhat responsible for the financial mess we are in today. What continues to amaze me is that so many people in the working class have bought into this idea that the extreme wealthy have a right to become even wealthier, often at their own expense. That tells me that many propagandists on the right (such as Limbaugh) are doing an excellent job.
Some believe that the role of the government should be very limited. But government has the ability to improve our lives by setting regulations that guide the free market system. Mishin seems to be employing the "slippery slope" logical fallacy by assuming that any move towards socialism means it will continue to slide that way.
It has been amazing to me in past times how the disappearing middleclass will concede to ideas and policies that continue to hurt themselves. There's not a middleclass or lower class person that should be in a rush to listen to Rush. He's not a Christian and knows nothing of the perfect Love that casts away all fear! Rush encourages fear! That is against Christ!
How is it that when it comes to clear thinking the middleclass is off on a vacation? I was wondering if I was noticing this all by my self but I see that you too Stan are seeing it. Maybe we should really have that coffee.
The middle and lower classes seem to be so scared of the so-called [commies] or now afraid of the so-called [anti-christ] Obama. Their fears keep spiking the type wit that encourages policy that flows America's cash right to the top. Perfect love casts out fear and our greed. Both seem to be the American way.
You true evangelist encourages men and women to receive the free gift of perfect Love which casts out all fear. I'm serious. Soundness of mind now occurs! Empowerment over fear and greed now occurs. We have a whole lot of religion in the middle and lower classes but so little fear diminishing Love! Where oh where are the true evangelists?
Serious contemplative thinking of itself is hard to gift men with, but the free gift of perfect Love that casts out all fear can be received in contrite and receptive repentance! Where are the true evangelists? It's possible Stan that men and women to great degree will readily repent to be saved from fire rather than be encouraged toward something glorious, like perfect and unconditional Love along with soundness of mind!
"For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of Love, and of a sound mind." 2Tim.1:7

Thanks for your comments, Doug. You and I think alike in a lot of ways. Your thoughts are usually expressed in religious terms, but the bottom line is often the same. Compassion, moderation, understanding, and trying to reach out and find common goals with those whose way of life is different that ours.
BTW, I just finished watching Obamas speech to the Muslim world yesterday in Egypt. It was an excellent speech, and contained many of the traits described in the above paragraph. Has anyone else listened to the whole speech? Anyone care to comment?
Stan read this article. I'm not saying every word is true, but just from reading it, would you say that this is the same thing that happened to Chrysler?
Motherlode, I don't know about the rest of the article you linked to..... but I can comment on two of the Canadian "concentration camps" because I have been given my clearance papers to be on site at these specific two military bases. (regular business appointments and installation walk-throughs)
I can catagorically state that at both these bases there are NO facilities that could be used or renovated to be used as concentration camp style detention centres.
Now, I wonder if the author simply made up the bull**** about the bases I visit, could or would he pull the rest of the story out of thin air as well?
(just for xep and company......"did it reeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaally happen that way?")
MutterLode, I'm not making the connection between the Chrysler bailout of the 70's and these concentration camps. I noticed the article was written during the reign of Ashcroft as AG, some 5 or 6 years ago.
So the author is suggesting these "concentration camps", if they exist, are being readied to house all of us citizens who buck some totalitarian government?
One of the places mentioned was Fort Leavenworth KS, a few miles from here. That is a federal pen. The idea that the government is hiding some secret concentration camp in its vicinity seems quite unlikely. I am familiar with the area surrounding the prison.
>>>Some believe that the role of the government should be very limited. But government has the ability to improve our lives by setting regulations that guide the free market system. Mishin seems to be employing the "slippery slope" logical fallacy by assuming that any move towards socialism means it will continue to slide that way.<<
Stan, I don't think there is a slippery slope fallacy here because "going socialist" isn't a process. I know it's commonly thought of as one but THAT is the fallacy. "Going socialist" is about as lengthy a process as "getting pregnant" is. We might meaningfully talk about how far along the road we are just like we do with pregnancy but that doesn't mean a nation is any more or less socialist than it means a woman is any more or less pregnant. The only process would be the thought "process" leading up to the choice to either be socialist or not or be pregnant or not.
>>>But government has the ability to improve our lives by setting regulations that guide the free market system.<<
I've heard this many times but it seems to me that somewhere behind such thinking is lurking the assumption that the laws of economics are man-made and subject to manipulation. In other words, it makes about as much sense to me to say goverments have the ability to improve our lives by setting regulations on the laws of physics-lessening the impact of gravity and whatnot. Granted, we do take successful steps to lessen injury from the physical laws but we don't attempt to defy them which, unfortunaty, is what gov regulation ususally translates into. The government's job should be to recognize true laws and stick to 'em. That is what I understand to be behind the concept of "limited government" But, hey, this is probably just another one(or two)of those simple, fundamental differences in belief that would take about a million years to sort out on a forum like this.
The reason I was looking at that site is because I was talking to my son yesterday and he described passing a site like the article described and he was sort of creeped out by it. He was traveling to Ontario and was passing through Wisconsin and he said the place was all cleaned up and painted and looked ready to receive the population. He's not one to be too paranoid but the sight of the place was creepy. Don't know where in Wisconsin it was. But anyway, that wasn't the point I was trying to make. Sorry! Try this other link.

This is not really off the point of Russia because hardcore Marxism could not prophecy nor see their own end; they were simply working off the sceience of the thing. Ponder this. Socialism and democracy have been mixed when greater wisdom has been applied. Even these forms only serve until Christ be formed!
If I make clear statements concerning a baptism of unconditional Love that is now being experienced by millions in the reception of the Full Gospel and how all things finally come to correction by the multiplication of this process, why is that religious? Is it considered religious because the end product of it is yet unseen with a hint of the prophetic about it?
Why is the prophetic realm dubbed as being religious if the prophetic thing actually occurs accurately? The prophetic [when it's real] speaks of things that are later revealed to be very sound in an observable way.
Isaiah, a clear thinking man prophecied of the coming Christ along with his nature and work; this Christ came in the outpictured Jesus. That word was factual and life-changing, albeit it had a prophetic edge to it. I do not see the true prophetic realm as a religious or ceremonial excercise.
If someone does see the prophetic realm as religious, the burden is on them to clarify that, I suppose.
God is our chief prophet! Prophecy is the sign of the Spirit of the Lord! God being a clear thinking entity hovered over the darkness of the deep and at one point prophecied [there shall be light]! Suddenly there was a vast explosion of brilliant light! Science now observes the effects of this explosion and yet questions the prophecy? We are not nearly so wise as we think we are. Scientists cannot plug into such serious information at a convenient point in order to accomodate an attitude and remain a viable source of information for very long. It will judge itself as has, hardcore Marxism.
Some sientists are indeed growing in wisdom and incorporating fuller views into their scope. Wisdom can follow scientific knowledge!
Mishin knows very well what he is talking about, living in a country that has been there, done that, in terms of living in a former socialist/communist nation and is still somewhat that. The Russians know Marxism/socialism when they see it, and they can see plainly what is going on here. He is right on almost everything. Sometimes it's easier to see things from a distance rather than up close, as such could be the case here.
Stan, the reason you are annoyed about all the concerns people have about socialism is that you must not understand what is really is. It is a failed system and fails every time it is tried. Socialism/Marxism suppresses the human spirit, and individual freedom. It suppresses creativity and a person's ability to realize his full potential. Question : Would any of the Russian people today want go back to the USSR style system of government? I seriously doubt it.
Karl Marx spent a lifetime trying to figure out how to solve the problems of class warfare. You will always have class warfare as long as you have people that are envious of the wealthy, and you will always the wealthy and the poor, no matter what system. Karl Marx vehemently tried to make a case against capitalism but his friend Friedrich Engels, was a mill owner, i.e. a capitalist. If it hadn't been for Engels, Marx would never have finished his book, the Manifesto. In fact, if it hadn't been for Engels, Marx would never have finished his evening meal. Marx took his distaste for capital to the extent that he never had any. Whether or not the irony was deliberate, he wrote his text condemning capitalism while living off its charity. Karl died a poor beggar. Now that's the model we all want to pattern after.!!
China was a poor country until they started adapting to a capitalist economy. See what is happening now. The only way they are holding back a full scale revolution is holding on to the iron-fisted communist rule and suppressing dissention by the threat of brute force. People want to be free. Like the official New Hampshire state motto says, Live Free or Die.
If Obama continues on a path toward socialism, which there is every indication that he will, we WILL have a revolution like you have never seen.
You say if the trend continues to spiral, a revolution is ineventable. Do you think that revolution could occur at the ballot box? You say it will continue to become more socialistic in your opinion because of Obama.
Well, Obama cannot do this himself. Only with great help from the donkeys in the houses of congress can the spiral continue. The fact that Obama has appointed Czars with great responsibily for different positions of his effort is alittle frightening.
Russia had hardcore socialism. Didn't work. China also had the same. Didn't work. North Korea has the same. It isn't working. They have mass starvation graves to prove it.
China is fast moving toward democratizing their country because they got smart. What would make anyone believe that we are less astute and intelligent than the those in China? I think fear can do this. We're not going into hard-core socialism.
It's the [liberal] right that has brought this thing to a head with the far right behind right it so far as votes is concerned.
The far right while too ridged and judgmental on many issues in my opinion of itself would not have allowed the finances of this country to do the double back-flip we've seen had they been in power for the past 8 years.
What Obama has inherited is a class-A mess. Obama inherited a liberal-right mess.... The problem with the government stepping in as it now has concerning the finances of this nation is this; it's going to be extremely hard to pull back from it's involvement if the thing does begin to work. Once involved, always involved. History certainly suggests this.
What do we do?
We see if Obama's policies work in the first four years, if they do not begin to work in some great strength I believe on purpose we must reduce our whole structure to the status of being [just one of the boys nation] rather than being the world's chief of police and head banker. But that would be responsible. If we do not do this both politically and finacially it could easily be done for us at a much greater cost. That's likely the route it would take. This is my opinion but it is not only mine.
I hope we can do this thing at the ballot box. Maybe we shouldn't be so afraid of Mitt R.

Doug, I have done my due diligence for the past ten years in studying the power players of the world, the Illuminati, the Bilderbergs, Council on Foriegn Relations, New World Order etc, etc, and I could sit here and write for two hours and have only touched the surface. Going back two hundred years and seeing it all put into place, the pieces all fit together like a puzzle. The American people, and most all people for that matter, do not have the vaguest idea of what is really happening.
By the time we have a chance to express ourselves at the ballot box it will very likely already have been too late. Obama is going at break-neck speed to institute his agenda without the people really knowing what is going on, as evidenced by passing the stimulus bill without congress having a chance to disiminate and contest it. And the agenda is the New World Order. But this has been a process for many years and Obama is only an instrument to help bring it to fruition. Here is Henry Kissinger, a long time Bilderberg member, speaking to the news media during the recent presidential campaign,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD3BqK-9ZiU&feature=related Take notice at the time 2:45. Going back a little here is G. Bush Sr. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc7i0wCFf8ghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pVmL2RyYe4&feature=related and Bill Clinton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pVmL2RyYe4&feature=related
So that gives you a little idea, if you didn't know it already.
Nobody wanted to believe that Hitler was doing the things he did at first until it started happening to people they knew, themselves or their country was attacked. What would make people any different now as far as believing? calledoutPTL
I'm with you Zep. On the other hand we need to keep our eyes open.
If America is ripe for what goes around comes around Christian people of this land are going to suffer through it also.
The lost element here seems to be that it is God who sets up Kings and God who pulls Kings down. There's a higher thing in control here than mere men. If we need a good whipping I betcha we get it. I personally believe that there are higher plans for America than what is going on right now. We're in an age to endure.
It is not wrong to couple prayer with the ballot-box and that's from the perspective of the good Christian people of America. I expect and encourage the fatalistic but good Americans to turn out for the ballot-box more and more. Render to Caesars what's Caesars and to God what's Gods.
If we were in another age than we are it might be that hard-core socialism could do a number on us.
I do not believe that we are going the way of Hitler or hardcore socialism. I understand that my belief is not the determining factor.
Ok Xep, lets talk about fear. I agree with the scripture you mentioned.
It has been a source of inspiration for me many times. But lets face it, we all live with a certain amount of fear. Show me a person that doesnt have some fear and I will show you a person thats dead. As a matter of fact, holdemans probably live with more fear that the average person. Why are so many on anti-depressants? Its fear, for whatever reason. Take your typical H gathering or Sunday lunch and afternoon visit, there is certain things you say and certain things you do not say. There is fear there, that what you say might be judged wrongly, and that might tarnish your image as a member in good standing, so you ask no questions.
There is fear if you lose your job, and what you are going to do now. There is fear if your crops get hailed out and how you are now going to make your farm payments. Fear is a great motivator. It propels you to find answers to any particular problem. But negative fear can also do a lot of damage to your health. It has been proven that those that fear cancer the most are more likely to get it. In my past I have had enough fear to last several lifetimes, regarding my health issues. So I am well aquainted with fear and how to deal with it and overcome it, including a lot of prayer. Prov 3:7-8 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Now, about our future and the future of America, there is a lot of fear right now, where we are headed as a nation. Gun sales are up, with the anticipation that something is about to happen. I know we can live above that to a certain extent, if we are secure in Christ. But I am sure you will admit[we in America at least]that you have some fear what would happen if the economy completely tanks and your livelihood is altered dramatically. And if we are on a path to where our freedoms are taken away, such as our belief in God is seriously questioned, there will be an element of fear there. Also, what about your childrens future? Will they continue to have the freedoms like you had?
I am a person that likes to know things. I like to investigate situations so I know what my options are. Knowledge is power. Its nice to know at least something about most any situation so when a crises arises, you have some knowledge on how to deal with it. So it is with our countrys future. If we dont know, or have any idea what is going to happen, we will have some fear. On the other hand, if we know what is very likely going to happen, that may bring some fear too. For myself, I like to know what is going to happen so I know how to prepare for it, both physically and psychologically and eternally Thus the desire to know. I would rather have the stability of knowing than the fear of not knowing. So now you know where I stand. Nevertheless, I am still open to any of your thoughts or suggestions.
<<< I am still open to any of your thoughts or suggestions. >>>
I'm not sure I saw a thought in Xepp's comments. I did see some spiritual posturing and affectation however. The very idea that a holdy (any holdy) is so spurit-filled as to have their eyes fixed above and not on the material things of this earth is...well...just absurd and lets just leave it at that.
But on the other hand, about fifteen years ago, I got levered into somewhat of an investigation regarding all the stuff GM mentioned. I quickly learned that my pea brain could not deal the size and complexity of the entanglements. Starting years ago with the Illuminati, European bankers, Jewish bankers, Rothchilds, Masons, Skull & Bones, Rhodes Scholars, Jeykel Island, 1913 Federal Reserve act, leaving the gold standard, Franklin Roosevelt and Pearl Harbor, after several years, I just laid down and gave up. In my view, there is a slow progression. Conspirator's lose crediblity because they insist the conspiracy is moving faster than it really is. This discrepancy causes them to lose credibility, but the thing keeps creeping. But I have hope personally, because there seems to be other forces at work also, a redemptive force.
You spoke well about fear GM. It has some positive as well as negative results. Although for the most part it is a negative. I won't reject your personal experiences of fear in the Holdeman church, but neither do I agree that in the H there is more fear than normal.
Fear begats fear, and fear is torment. I believe we have a choice to live in fear or not. I am not sure it is dependant on a superior level of "knowledge" either. I think it has more to do with security. If we are secure in our father's care, can we fear? Why would we choose to sucumb to that? Isn't it only as we leave our security?
You also talked about how people see things coming and the gun sales going up etc. Well does your example of how people who fear cancer too much may get it sooner, apply here as well? Think. Even politically...which is cause and which is effect?
Scott spoke of looking into all that stuff and then giving up. Some may find that falalistic, but I was the same way even without getting into it that deep. But... there is hope! Not for this world of course, because the days will continue to worsen , but Jesus tells us....And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redeption draweth nigh. LK 21:28
***Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, ***
I believe that what one in his thoughts [either out of fear or in faith] dwells upon begins to occur in one's life. "As a man thinks in his heart so is he!" "The issues of a man's life procede from his heart". Job said this; "My greatest fear has come upon me". These are inarguable or intrinsic truths. I personally believe this is also true concerning the life of a nation.
If in our thoughts we fearfully dwell upon sickness we invite undue sickness. I have a sister who in her thoughts fearfully dwells on being [old] and guess what, she is getting old long before her time.
"Real Faith works by Love" it says. If we [not by love] dwell in bitterness we invite it's effect which is malice. It will absolutely eat our lunch. If we fearfully dwell upon poverty we shall invite that as well. If we dwell upon depressing things we will reap the depression. Ask those who have come clear of depression.
The news media is far more responsibile than they care to admit in permeating the public with negative thoughts. Thoughts are energy! Talk-show hosts are doing the same in many cases. I say; do not rush to hear Rush.
I strongly believe that fear is a type of faith. Fear is a faith in what we do [not] hope for and Faith is the substance of what we [do] hope for!
Before one speaks a word against Faith, think twice or thrice then ponder it some more.

It may not be "deep", but these verses pretty much sum up my view of things:
Matthew 24:35-51
35. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37. *But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39. And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched**, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45. Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46. Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.***
47. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49. And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50. The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51. And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Genesis 6:5-8
5. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
8. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6
1. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Luke 16:27-31
27. Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28. For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29. Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30. And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
1 John 2:3-5
3. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

as a side note, I see verse 48-51 referring to the non-resistant view. Those that say the Lord delays His coming, and believe that we must protect ourselves so that those who are evil do not annihilate Christianity, are those that do not truly have faith in God, and they begin to smite their fellowservants (humanity) by joining the armed forces.
For all intents and purposes, let me say that I am not implying that I agree with everything thats out there and I am not necessarily fearful about the future, and that was not my point. But the point I was trying to make is that whether we like it or not, our lives are going to be altered in some fashion in the near future and it could be quite dramatically. Like I said, its nice to know all the possibilities and likely scenarios but not that I am in any way controlled by it.
About fear, the forces at work use fear greatly to their advantage. They know that people are resistant to what they are trying to accomplish and will try to avoid knowing their strategies and that helps to further their cause.
Scott, I agree with your take on all that but there is a common thread that runs through it all and that is to have complete control over the people. I would like to know what you are referring about other forces at work and being a redemptive force. I think I know what you mean but I would like to hear your thoughts.
You have quoted some great passages and stated that they were your positions. You did not say that they were your only positions but I would suppose that the passages quoted were your priorities.
What concerned me was this about your priority positions; Those great passages of the New Covenant which reveal the changing of covenants where God was once perceived to be to the exterior of humanity in the old, but now in the New Covenant the perception is that He is interior were left out as priority passages.
TR this is precisely the pattern in how doctrine can be worshiped rather than Christ Jesus! So long as the perception that an extremely strict/harsh/demanding God is external to us, we shall continue to worship both doctrines and precepts by which to perform. Shame and fear is still indulging us.
When the unconditional Love of God rules us [from the interior] we no longer idolize doctrines or precepts by which to perform to sustain our approval by God. For it's by Grace through Faith that we are justified i.e. approved! Nothing we can do even hints at winning or sustaining our approval by God! The works of righteousness in the New Covenant person's walk are spontaneous in nature for indeed this person is a new creation now, all things have become new.
[Spontaneous good works] means that we have no record of our good works. Jesus said this to those who had no record of their good works; what you have done to these you have done unto me. Why? Because it was all spontaneous in nature i.e. a mere expression of the overflow of Love!
As soon as we do works from the energies of what we know to be good works, we have an immediate record of our works. We can be contrived in this or we can be spontaneous! The difference here is being an old covenant believer in one's priorities and perspective or being the New Covenant believer! The price of His shed blood is the difference here! This is not deep, but this is glorious!
It does a despite to the Spirit of Grace to act out righteous things by way of knowledge in an effort to sustain our approval by God. A despite is done to the Spirit of Grace to act out contrived righteous things for the sake of the record. Working for the pay at the end of the way, is quite contrary to the flow of the Spirit of Grace within the New Covenant believer!
I am not judging anyone in this matter but I am pointing us away from contrived righteous works to the spontaneity of His Spirit, in us!
