The kingdom of God is inside of you, and outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will realize that you are the children of the living Father.
--Gospel of Thomas Verses 3 & 4

Interesting. I am reading a book entitled "The Transparent Self" by humanistic psychotherapist Sidney Jourard, and he is saying the same thing. This doesn't surprise me because I see that all truth runs parallel and when we really find spiritual truth, it will agree with true science. The book is being purposeful about no longer living behind the mask which unfortunately, seems to be standard issue. The mask is only one form of our dishonesty. When people get "converted", unfortunately, that is when the mask goes into high gear because we have to "look" like Christians to be approved by others. Its all dishonest, and extremely unhealthy.

Scott, I don't know that Christianity is suppose to be composed of mask bearers, although I suppose the effect of any organization is to force replicas of the attainable common denominator.
But it seems to me that Jesus taught a rouged individualism, he sort of got crucified by himself for standing on his own, and "in his own light".
I totally get that rogue independence. The scriptures actually are a little mysterious about who Jesus really was as a person, but He is one of the few "Christians" that I respect.
