Words like... retain their liturgical heritage, openly gay bishop and the blessing of same-sex, join personal ordinariates, prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, corporately received, relations of the communion, the General Synod, Anglican tradition, initiative of the Apostolic Constitution, "flying bishops"(??), parishes, episcopate, those who seek unity with the "Holy See", distinctive patrimony, priests, prayer books, homosexuality and the ordination of women ....     I jes don't rightly know WHAT they all mean!

Xeppy, so kind of you to pass this on. (I already had heard about this, but thanks for thinking of me).

Only problem is, most of the reasons why people are 'swimming the Tiber' to the Roman church, are exactly the reasons why I choose to remain Anglican.

That said, I suppose the fact that the Romans are prepared to accept members of the Anglican communion does illustrate the fact that much of the Anglican faith and the Roman faith are similar (and in keeping with the beliefs of the early church).

As a a Roman Catholic priest who was a recent guest preacher at our parish said upon seeing the catechism notes left on the white board in our parish hall: "Yep, that's all the same as ours."

I long for the day when the various branches of Christianity join together in communion and all the schisms be undone. I also long for the day when groups such as the Holdemans which have fallen into/(originated in?) heresy will embrace the faith of the apostolic church...
