      It's possible that there is a bad connection in the picup arm or the cart. and it's picking up stray AC humm. Reseat the cartridge or check for dirty connections, bad wire, or the cables that go to the input of the preamp. Sounds like AC pickup to me. I had an old DUAL turntable that the cartridge used to loosen up and cause that problem.
