Dietary factors affecting Polynesian health

Stefan,

Like the series but I thought there needed to be a little bit more objective science behind the implied bad health properties of coconut milk, juice etc. The Polynesians have been using this for millenia without any health issues. It has been demonstrated that the medium chain saturated fats from coconuts are not artherogenic or 'fattening' in themselves. Many other populations around the world ie. SE Asia, would prove this. Surely the introduction of cheap corned beef & lamb along with sugary drinks and snacks were contributing to this problem and the lack of fish as an alternative source of protein.
