Hail Mary! Take Bloody Mary Away!

This a true story; you can either believe it or not!!!

It was dismal outside- cold and rainy. My friend Erin and I were just done telling each other ghost stories, which is the natural thing to do when its dark, cold, thundery and the lights are out. We were over her at house at the time and were cowering on the porch, you know, the the ones which have a roof.

We were talking about demons and The Exorsist- things which would easily get any child scared- when she asked me if I had ever tried 'Bloody Mary'. Of course I never had, especially after all the stories I had heard, and the creepy tales I had read about her!

When I was a young, innocent child, my nanny used to tell me the spanish version of 'Blood Mary'- 'La Yarona', which means weeping woman in English- and before I would go to bed she would bless me and then cover my mirror with an tatty cloth. She warned me never to repeat 'Bloody Mary' whilst stood infront of the mirror. One day it was raised in a coversation when my friend, Erin, came over and she had brought along a ouija board. My nanny was almost driven to a heart attack and claimed that a ouija board is 'The Devil's play ground'. We were never allowed to speak of it again.

However, Nanny is long gone.

So of course I never did get the opportunity to try and live out the tale of Bloody Mary whilst my Nanny was alive, but when she had passed, Erin came over one day and suggested we try it.

I asked Erin if she still had the ouija board but she had given it away when strange things had begun to happen around the house.

I thought that if 'Bloody Mary' was a real girl, maybe I could help her!

I could not have been more wrong!

We assembled a blood red candle and a white candle and whent into the bathroom. We chanted 'Bloody Mary' five times, but at first we saw nothing. As we blew out the white candle, the blurring image of a rocking chair came into view, and it was soon as clear as day. Seconds later, a knife appeared and then finally the face of a woman. Blood seeped from the top corners of the mirror and trickled down, forming a pool on the dressing table. I panicked and ran to the light switch. I turned on the lights and when we regained our composure, we began comparing the images we had both seen before us in disbelief. As I turned back I realised the images were still in the mirror and getting closer by the second.

I gasped and heard a scream escape fromhen Erin's mouth.

I spun the mirror to the other side, so that all we could see was wood.

Unbeknownst to Erin and myself, our friend Hexy had come around and was standing behind us in the doorway. Realizing what we had done, she demanded we both chant 'Hail Mary Take Bloody Mary away' three times to prevent the ghost haunting my mirror and my house.

Shortly after the incident, Erin and her family moved away. Locals who knew the family said they had all been struck by a mysterious illness and some had even died. The other members of the family would often be seen with slash marks on their arms and faces.

Erin has never been in touch since she moved away and I had chosen never to speak about the incident... until now that is...
