My fiancee, Kye, bought a car with a tragedy behind it.
A man called Dave and his wife Claire had been having marital problems. They had a son called Ricky(aged 9) and wanted the marriage to work for his benefit. An attempt at a family day out was to the zoo but they'd already started bickering before they left the house. Claire threw the picnic in the boot of the car (Since most people on this site are american, I think american people call it the trunk?) and shouted Ricky to get his shoes on and get in the car. He hadn't been getting the attention he should have been because both parents were wrapped up in their own problems.
When Ricky got in the back of the car, he forgot to put his seat belt on and passed a CD to his mum to put on. When his mum realised Ricky didn't have his seatbelt on she told him to put it on incase of an accident. Dave turned to her and scolded 'leave the boy alone! ur always on his back! If he doesn't wanna wear a belt he doesnt have to wear a belt'.
Most of the journey was in silence, but eventually Claire tried to make the effort to talk to her husband. He was being awkward and again they started arguing. His head was a mess from their problems and he put his foot down. Claire screamed at him to slow down but he shouted back 'Oh and NOW ur gonna tell me how to drive?' and refused.
They went into the back of another car.
Because Ricky didn't have his seatbelt on, he went into his mums seat and smashed up his face. When he fell back, he hit his head and died from the injuries. When he hit Claire's chair, he fractured her skull at the back, she fell forward and smashed her face aswell. She went straight into a coma and by the time the paramedics got there, she was dead. Dave just had a little cut on his eye brow. His wife was laying back in her chair, slumped, with her head against the window and face turned towards him. His son was layed across the back seats, dead.
He ran from the car screaming, but nothing could turn back time.
When the car had been repaired, he gave it away to Kye. He then tried to kill himself and was sectioned.
Kye had had the car about a week, and despite the tragedy, it was a gr8 car and he loved it, we couldn't have afforded a car like this on our own. However, his mother called from York and said that his father wasn't well and she wanted him to go and visit. He did.
In the middle of the night he caught sight of something in the corner of his eye. When he turned, he saw a woman slumped against the window, eyes closed and cuts all over he face. her hair was dark and matted from blood. She then opened her eyes and looked straight at him. Kye slammed on his breaks and jumped from the car. The woman wasn't there anymore. He knew it was Claire. Eventually, it occured to him that he couldn't stand outside the car all night, or call the AA and asked to be picked up 'because there's a dead woman in the car', so he got back in and carried on driving to his mum's. When he was a ot closer, he looked in his mirror to see a boy in the back seat, he had no belt on and although there was no noise coming from him, he was clearly singing to himself.
This must have been Ricky.
When Kye returned home, he sold the car.
