More Hometown Ghosts...

In the old neighborhood where I use to live, There were lots of stories dealing with sightings, sounds, accurences, and even smells. For instance, neighbors would complain of being overcome by the strong smell of blood in the air. And many folks would tell stories of having their legs slapped by unseen hands during sleep. And reported seeing men dressed in period clothing on horseback, or walking through the open fields, and now abandoned cattle pastures.
A nieghbor of ours once talked to my father stating that she once wittnessed a group of men on horseback dressed in what would be described as Spaniard style clothing. their shirts had long sleeves, which flared-out at the rist, and that they wore long leather boots, and that a few of them wore leather vests, with armour plates decorating them. and they wore steel helmets on their heads. They were Spanish Conquistadores. Who traveled through this part of Texas during their quest for untold riches in the name of God, and Spain. and who had prabably fell victim to Indian attacks. My father took her story seroiusly, since he himslef had once witnessed them too. I've never seen them, but I wish I did. My mom did once, she told me that once she witnessed a man on a horse ride through the living room wall! he was dressed in the attire of the Spanish Conquistadore. Most of the sightings take place when the weather is cold, drizzly, and very damp.
There was a man from the local University looking around, on the ground in a field behind our house once, He told me he was a Archiologist, and he was looking for samples, such as arrowheads, etc. When he said that, I told him I had several arrowheads that he could have. I went, and retrieved a shoebox that was full of arrowheads that I had found. He looked at me with surprise, and asked How I came across so many. I just told him that I would always find them, usualy without effort. I'd just look down, and there they would be. He quickly took the box, and determined that there were several styles of arrowheads. He pointed out the fact that most of them were in "Warhead" form. meaning that they had come from different tribes, and were prabably used in battle between nieghboring tribes in the area! That's prabably why people would get the eerie stench of blood in the air from time to time...
