I know the the title s corny but the story is well worth it. This is a genuine story. In 1985 my friend and myself were fast asleep in the back of an old touring caravan parked on a dark lonely laybye in the Norfolk Broads, U.K.. Suddenly I awoke with a start to a very loud banging on the caravan door, this made me jump as my head was right up to the door on a single bed, my friend was asleep at the end of the caravan on the double bed.
I replied to the banging, quite loudly as I was annoyed with it? Who is it I asked? There was no reply. Once again the caravan door knocked, bang bang bang bang. I asked out louder again, who is it? what do you want? Again no reply. Yet again the caravan door knocked as loud as before, I again almost shouting now, asked who the hell was it and what do you want? By this time all of this commotion had awoke my friend, I quickly explained to him what was going on, i.e. the door keeps knocking loudly, I keep asking who is it, yet no one replies! At this stage the door knocked yet again and I was able to show my friend exactly what was happening.We both suddenly began being just a little bit scared even petrified, but as we were both together we decided we would jump out next time and confront the culprit. My friend grabbed a frying pan and I grabbed the caravans jack handle, as soon as the banging began again we both jumped out immediately, I'd say within a split second, out we pounced from the van, whilst the banging was happening and guess what, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, NOTHING NO ONE, NOTHING the banging however ceased immediately. This absolutely had to be impossible, I was so terrified I ran around the van, jumped up to see if anything was on the roof, and looked underneath the van to see if anything was underneath, absolutely nothing wharsoever. We were both so terrified we clambered back into the van and just sat there all night just waiting for the blue light of daylight, when we jumped into the car and started it up and sped off in relief. without a doubt this had to be a paranormal event, it is physically impossible for this to have happened. Nearly 17 years on this event still goes over and over again in my mind. Strange things must be true.
