abc music ghost

In 1979 we tore down an old home next door to my in-laws. My husband I bought a doublewide home and put it on the same spot. After a few months I noticed strange noises and my husband said it was just the home settling. I disagreed because the noises I heard was footsteps walking from the kitchen to the bedroom thru the wall. The steps sounded like small steps of a child.
When my son was born he has many toys and often the toys would be in different places from where I had placed them. For my son's 1st birthday he got an ABC muscial book. You open the book and it played a high pitched digital tune of the ABC song. After serveral times it can be very annoying. It had battery strength to play 500 times. After about a yrear it was still playing. I wished many times for the battery to hurry and die. Well after time went on my son was almost 3 years old and the book was on the floor in my son's room and it was open so I closed it and picked it up and put it on the dresser...again. I opened it and it did not play. I opened and closed it several times. Finally the batteries were dead...hurray. After a few more weeks my son kept bringing the book to me to get it to play and I kept telling him the batteries were dead.
One day in the fall I heard the sounds of the ABC music. The book was again on the floor and it was closed but playing music. It only played once when you opened the book. To play it again you would have to close it and open it again. My son was outside and I was alone in the home. I put the book on the dresser and left. About 10 minutes later I heard the music again and I looked in the room and the book was on the dresser still closed and playing it's annoying tune. This went on from time to time for several more weeks. One night at 1am the book was on the floor and chiming it's annoying tune. The book was open on the floor and I got up went in there and closed it. I went back to bed and just as I got comfortable it started to play again. I got up and put it on the dresser and made sure it was closed. Again as I was getting comfortable it played again. I got up and picked up the dictionary and the piggy bank and put it on top of the book and turned and said in a quiet voice,"Leave the ABC music book alone, we are trying to sleep." The book played a few more times over the weeks and one day I went into the bedroom and my 3 year old had torn the book into many pieces. I guess the little ghost was saddened, that was the ghost's favorite toy.
Annoying as it was, I missed that little book.
