This is a set of stories connected to an area in Nottingham called Carlton Hill. Some of these stories have happened to me personally and others have happened to friends and also people I have came across during my research. I am a paranormal researcher and after a ghost sighting in Blockbuster Video on Carlton hill, I decided to research the Carlton hill area for ghost sightings and happenings. On top of Carlton hill is a decent enough sized shopping area and many of the places here have ghost tales. While in Blockbuster Video, I was searching for a DVD with my girlfriend when all of a sudden we felt an intense coldness creeping around us. We both noticed it and as we were looking for a natural draft, we noticed a grey misty form floating out from a staff door. This mist suddenly developed into an unmistakable form of a monk. It vanished after a few seconds. We forgot about picking a DVD and hastily made our way out the store. A few days later we decided to return to the video store to enquire about what we saw. We asked the staff who seemed baffled as to what we had seen. They said they had experienced nothing to do with ghosts and hauntings but one female member of staff did say she felt some odd things in the back room (where the monk had come from). So to this day the ghostly monk of Blockbuster video remains a mystery.
Another location where I had an experience was the Top Spot nightclub on Carlton Hill. While playing pool in there one night with friends, I felt something push me violently from behind. One female member of staff (who has since quit her job) told me that she and other people often saw the ghost of a evil looking man near the pool area.
Another place located on Carlton Hill is the Toby Jug Pub. It was in here that a friend of mine felt a hand grab her wrist in the ladies bathroom. She said it was definately a male's hand and that the grip was very strong and violent.
On the main Carlton hill itself a tall man has been seen floating down the road, in between the Indian Prince Restaurant and the bookmakers. Witnesses have told me he has no feet.
The Carlton hill Library is said to harbour the ghost of a little blond girl on the top floor. Many staff members have saw her skipping around the book shelves, only to vanish into thin air.
The Llyods TSB bank is the scene of an odd ghost sighting. Members of staff have called a customer upto their desk. The man, wearing a suit, smiles at the cashier and then slowly disappears into thin air!
A garden for the blind is located on Carlton hill and late at night people passing by have seen strange white floating shapes moving at speed through the garden.
