I had just gotten married and my husband and I were just back from our honeymoon.We were in the process of building a new home so while we were waiting for the house to be finished we moved in with my husbands grandmother. She had a very large two story house and lived by herself.It was like the second night there and it was probably around 2:00 a.m. my husband had been asleep for about 1/2 hour and I had just started to dose off when all at once I heard what sounded like the sound of men working at on train tracks. Then I hear someone walking into the room with what sounded like big heavy working boots. I could actually feel a presence and was so afraid I covered my head up. I was actually terrified. The sound of the foot steps came closer until they sounded like they were standing right by my bedside. I still remained under the covers but I could feel a presence and it felt like they were staring right at me. It seemed like an eternity went by then the sounds went away and the foot steps sounded as if someone was leaving the room. It took me a few minutes to get up enough courage to take the covers off of my head and look. Of course, there was no one there. I then awoke my husband, who immediately could tell that I was scared to death. I could only get out someone had been in the house and he jumped to his feet put on his pants grabbed a gun and went searching for an intruder. Of course, there was no one there. After he returned and gave the all clear I proceeded to tell him the whole story. I let him know that the intruder was not real. After describing the sound of the train tracks and the heavy boots my husband immediately knew who it was. When my husband was a little boy his grandfather passed away. I guess he worked on the train tracks and wore heavy boots. I never knew this at all we had never discussed his grandfather before. I guess his grandfather had just come to pay me a visit and check out who his grandson had married. I know one thing he sure scared me to death. I never had anymore encounters with him after that. I guess he approved. At least I hope so .
