La Chusa is a witch bird. Stories of the La Chusa's have been in my family for years. I'm told they are evil people(who practice bad magic) who are human by day & bird-like creatures by night. My tia told me that when she was younger her grandmother would heal the sick. And the La Chusa's hated her for it. My tia said when she would spend the night at her grandmother's house she could hear their cawls on the roof, their whistles, it was very scary. The La Chusa's came into my tia's grandmother's house & scratched her back, while she slept.
Each one of my family member's have came in contact with a La Chusa at point in their life. I'm told if you see a La Chusa you should throw rocks & yell at it. It show's them that you are not afraid. It's nothing to be scared of. They only come out at night to do harm on good peple. That's why my family has always told me to never be outside past midnight. That's when evil spirit's are out.
There are so many stories of La Chusa's, aleast in my family.
