Axe Man's Bridge

I have a true story to tell you all about a place called Axe Man's Bridge. This place is very well known and is very scary. The bridge its self is almost worn down now and all that remains is the steel structer. About 1974 there was a family that lived just off the road from the bridge and was kind of secluded by the heavy wooded area. There was a family of 5 that lived there, 2 boys, 1 daughter, the parents. Well as the story goes the father had gone crazy and slaughtered his whole family with a axe and chased his wife only to cut off her head on the bridge. The man then went wandering down the road right along side of the bridge when he seen 2 teenagers working on a flat tire. He quickly approached them, but they noticed him right away and jumped into the car. The man smashed the axe into the windshield and cut off the heads of the 2 teenagers. The neighbors down the road had just pulled in there driveway when they noticed the man was covered in blood so they proceed to call the cops and when they arrived the man had shot himself in the face with a shotgun. Ever since that had happened it has become a area for teenagers to party but recently the house that the man slaughtered his family in was torn down. After that many reports of strange noises come from the area and many reports of your car breaking down right along side of the bridge. People have said they have seen things in the woods and screams coming from the area. This is absoultly true, I did alot of research on it from the local library. If you are from Il. around the border of indiana and illinois check it out for yourself. The bridge is right off of Old Forest road in Crete Il. You can take Torrence to Steger road then make a left and go a 1/4 of a mile and make a right. This road leads you to route 1 and you will be facing 7 large greenhouses. Make a left and go down until you see Old Forest road on your right. You will then proceed down and when you come to the bridge stop and look to your left and you will see the old bridge which is about 20 feet to your left in the woods.
