There once stood an abandoned house out in the country. The house was built sometime before the 19th century. and stood abandoned since the late 1940's. If the walls of that old house could talk, the stories they would tell.
It's original owners must have been pretty proud of thier little farmhouse. Becuase legend, or local folklore as it's better known. Has it that early in the wee hours of the morning, lights from lamps could be seen illuminating through the windows of that old house. Even though nobody was known to reside there anymore. This sort of thing went on for decades. Then, one day, people began to notice something else, something odd about the little farmhouse at the side of that once lonesome, two-lane country highway. Flowers, fresh flowers, and fresh flower petals would be seen placed in planters, or scattered on the front porch.
How those flowers got there, or who put them there every morning, nobody was ever able to explain it. The last time anything unusual was known to take place was back in the mid 1990's. Soon after, the county bought the property and bulldozed everything to make way for highway expansion. But maybe it was the spirits of the owners of that home. They must have loved their little house too much to ever leave it. Which brings me to believe that love, no matter how great or small, love lasts forever....
