I had once worked at a restaurant that was known to be haunted by the ghost of a long-dead jailhouse inmate. The restaurant which stands on the corner of Guadalupe and M.L.K. Drive in San Marcos, Texas, Was once a two story city jailhouse building that had been in use from sometime in the late 1940's until the early 1980's.
Now a restaurant, and minus it's second level floor, the old building continues to play host to the ghostly apparition of a long ago former inmate. Many of my former co-workers, along with myself had witnessed the ghostly siting and we have come to the agreement that ghosts truly do exist.
The ghost is that of a male in his late 30's. With dark brown, almost reddish hair, a thin beard, and blue eyes. He is dressed in what is believed to be inmate issued blue colored jailhouse clothes. It is unknown for now, how the inmate met his death while serving his time in the jailhouse but he is often seen walking and or sometimes running from a hallway leading through the rear kitchen, and towards the refrigirator, and back door of the building.
It's believed that some of the inmates of the time were designated as trustees, and were allowed to work in the kitchen area on the bottom floor of the building. And also, after serving their stretch in the town jail, the inmates were released via the rear kitchen door at the back of the building.
Other incidences include doors slamming, water faucets being turned on, people touched by unseen hands, and heavy breathing by an unseen person behind one's neck.
I would like to oneday ask the owner of the establishment for permission to conduct my own investigation for even though I myself had witnessed the ghost, I would love very much to be able to capture the manifestation on video, and perhaps obtain any electronic voice phenomenon.
I'll keep in touch with you, the readers. And I'll promptly add to this story with any updates whenever they are made available...
