Harker hieghts, Texas... There's a soccer field there that is near a waste water plant. The soccer field is said to be haunted by the ghosts of a long dead cowboy and indian. The story goes that an indian raiding party attacked and killed a ranchers family, and had murdered his wife and children.
The angry cowboy sought revenge, and went out looking for the band of rampaging indians. He finaly cought-up with them at the scene which is now the soccer field. Anyway, a gunfight took place, and most of the indians, along with the cowboy, and a handful of volunteers were killed during the battle. This story went on to be told by the few survivors of that posse. There had been countless sightings of the ghosts in the area where the battle took place. One of the stories says that the ghost of a cowboy appears who has glowing red eyes, and the ghost of an indian then runs across the open field, the cowboy then chases him into the tall grass, you can hear gunshots, and a loud scream. But if you go to look for yourself, all you will find are drag-marks in the tall grass where the cowboy dragged the indians body away... |
