Spouth Point longboards - feedback?

Just wondering if anybody has surfed South Point longboards. After a few years of surfing the GL on fish-type boards, I have just aquired an 8'-0" South Point that looks incredible, and I can't wait to try it. (I'll be out there when the weather warms up to a 4/3.) Yes, it is a mass-produced epoxy board (just like the much-loathed Bic), but hey it's good enough for Bonga Perkins... Just wondering if anyone else has one.

Cheers,
Bob ('pondsurfer' on the old lakesurf forum)

Yo Bob, I've got a 8.6 southpoint longboard. It's a bit of a pig but hey...it's my first board. Feels like I'm missing rides because of it's weight and I also had some cracked rails that needed repair...but now it owes me. All that said I think it's a good tough beginer longboard, but I'll probably look for something better in a year or so ( maybe a Hobie or a Walden)

cheers
