Wax

I took off my booties to surf and didn't have enough grip on my board to keep me from slipping off. There were a few bars of old "Mr. Zogg's Cold water" wax on there, and one new coat of almost an entire bar of the same type of wax. Should I be using even more wax, or is this a sign that I should scrape off my old wax and start fresh? My board is a 7'9" Bic, no grip pad, I've had it for a couple of months and I haven't scraped off any wax yet, I've only been adding to it.

do you comb your board or just keep putting on wax? Get yourself a wax comb. I comb mine every time out. It makes a big difference
