It was named Striding Edge owing to the ease with which on can 'stride out'(hands in posh)' making it a particularly easy route to or from the summit for the week and infirm. Obviously I will be ignoring it for sterner challenges, such as the rigors and exposure of High Street, but I would recommend it, and it's near neighbour Swirral Edge, to anybody undergoing physiotherapy for ligament damage.
