Another accident by Paul at Chichester Harbour again...
by Woolven (New H & S Officer)
this time he sailed his dayboat from his mooring at Bosham to East Head with Nina and a friend. They had decided to have a BBQ on the sandy beach at East Head. All went well with good food and drink until he moved the portable BBQ and burried the hot coals in the sand. Then by accident he kneeled on the hot sand where the BBQ had been and found the sand scorching hot and burnt his left lower leg quite badly. Paul forgot the BBQ Risk Assessment!
Remember sand is made of silica and can really absorb the heat. It also used in blast furnaces to make glass.
