Waved we might have but my recollection of your plight on the M6 south of Preston was that we pulled in on the hard shoulder just ahead of Glyns vehicle to see what the problem was. We were assured that the AA were on the way to pick you up and transport you to Nether Wasdale, which duly happened. Or is all of that a figment of my imagination?
The implication that the VW had a consumption of 10 miles per tankful lacks some plausibility because the distance between successive Services is significant greater than 10 miles in practically every case.
