I write to report the sad news of the death of Charles (Charlie) Brown. Member of a prominent 8th family in the sixties (younger bro Richard, and late parents David and Pat, who were the writers of the "Osprey" newsletter seen elsewhere on this site) Charlie was one of the original Lakes Expedish party that, in the summer of 1969, went up with Nev and (Nev will have to help here) . . . I'm guessing Chris Lisher and Paul Davies for a summer jaunt that presaged the 1970 Easter trip and hence the annual trips that have followed ever since. Charlie was also active in canoeing and on Trident while a scout and senior scout (venture). He had lived in Australia for many years.
Nev, how about a photo or two of the summer 1969 Lakes trip for the one or two of us who remember Charlie?
