Peterborough catches lacrosse fever

by Baggy (Login Baggy.B)

Lacrosse fever is hitting Peterborough. The Merit Precision Lakers are pouring it on and are returning home to celebrate their Minto Cup banner raising ceremony on Sunday, and the KC Lakers Major team wrap up their season on the road.

One thing for sure - Peterborough is catching lacrosse fever.

All KC Laker Major games have appeared live on Cogeco TV, and the team has put an exciting product on the floor for local fans - and the local fans have been catching enthusiasm for the sport. And how!

The season began as lacrosse seasons usually do....with fans sitting at home watching NHL playoff tv - while the lacrosse teams waited patiently for the camera lens to change its focus.

Half way through the season, the fans began to catch the excitement. Crowds began to build and with every passing game, more and more people flowed into the arena.

The final KC Laker home game saw over 1600 fans cash in on the drama.

With playoffs coming down the road the Memorial Centre has become the hottest air conditioned building in the 'Boro.
