If you make a donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation, please mention "lacrosse" in a note with
the donation. At my request, in memory of my wife
Brenda, the CBCF will then direct the funds to a
facility seeking a "cure", rather than a "control".

Gaels/ Akwesane

by Ron Messer (Login ronmess)

The much anticipated eastern Conference final kicks off tonight in Bowmanville when the Lightning invade the friendly confines of the Garnet Rickard Centre @8pm .The Lightning proved they were the best team in the east with thier stellar regular season performance ,the Gaels finished a close second .The Gaels have only lost once in the post season ,while Akwesasne was extended to 5 games by oakville and to 4 by Halton Hills .The key to this game for the Gaels is to stay out of the penalty box something they have been guilty of all year. The Gaels have had a weeks rest, and lots of time to put together game stategy .So hold your breath ,and anything else you want cause ,these 2 games are gonna rock the house .Bev Stacey from the School for Indigenous languages will be on hand to bless the games with the traditional Mohawk speeech of thanksgiving and greeting,to be followed by OCanada .Ms Stacey speech is featured to remind all of us of the aboriginal roots our great game has , the place it has played in native culture and to honor our native brethern. So push yourself away from the picnic table ,TV sucks this time of year as does baseball and football(LOLOLOL)and come out to see the best bang for your sports dollar ,live Jr Playoff lacrosse in the palatial ,cool and ah heck I will say it again one of the best arenas for lacrosse in this country .The Garnet Rickard Center at the corner of Hwy#2 and Waverly Rd in historic and beautiful Downtown Bowmanville ONT.
