CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Response to Now that's somethin new !

...if everything worked out well all the time, they would have to change the name from "boating" to something else.

Looking over the list, I've "been there and done that" too, not necessarily all on boats, but certainly covered most of the list between cars I've owned and boats too.

Thinking back when I was first starting to work at a steady job, I was so poor I always bought used tires, and ran the car until it was almost out of gas before I'd buy some more. One day I had a date in the car with me, and I was thinking I was a pretty lucky guy to have such an attractive gal in the car with me, and all of a sudden, the car coughed a couple of times and literally starved itself out of gas (at the very moment she said, "will you please pull over at the next gas station, because I have to use the rest rooms") ha ha.

As fate would have it, some one up there was looking out for me, because we crested the hill and coasted a couple of blocks, through a green light and right into the pump lane of a gas station.

I've pulled similar stunts with boats, as I'm sure you and most of the other guys have too. Great hobby!

Regards, P
