I took a moment during lunch today to look up Jersey, and there's all kinds of information about it. Here are some of the quick finds. Jersey sounds like a great place. My business life requires me to be near an urban environment, but I live on a remote ridgetop in a rural setting, and I (Janet and I) love every minute of it. Looking at the character of Jersey, I can imagine it would be very easy to get accustomed to. While you appear to have some high end hotels and resorts, I'm sure the countryside is just downright spectacular.
On our weekend jaunts around central Tennessee, if we're not on the boat, we're generally exploring some remote corner of the rural landscape because we're both from small towns and share the small town values.
Regards, all the best,
(Looking forward to seeing the cowboy hat photos!!)
Jersey is an island of immense variety and great beauty. English yet with a distinctly continental flavour, Jersey has a rich heritage.
Whilst, not many International readers will know where the Island of Jersey is located, they may be more familiar with New Jersey - I provide a brief introduction to this special island which is actually located just off the North French coast. Jersey is also a very friendly place and has great scenery and fine standards of cuisine due largely to the French influence. Jersey is a great place to go for a short break and has some of the finest beaches in the UK.
The weather is generally better (at least in terms of sunshine hours) than mainland Britain. The temperatures may be slightly lower than southern England though, so it is probably best to visit in the summer time.
Jersey is also a tax haven which has obvious attractions to UK visitors most of whom pay through the nose for everything thanks to successive government tax hikes! You will notice much cheaper petrol prices than in England as well
St Helier, Jersey Jersey is the first holiday destination in the world to get Golden Globe award for its environment programmes. It is very popular and it has lots of sand and no stones. It is close to town centre and the Esplanade. The distance to the resort is 5 miles approx. from airport and the transfer time is approx. 20 minutes.
