| I just wanted to follow up on my small block chevrolet install. Very easy, good directions, and the motors started right up and spit antifreeze all over the shop, ha ha. Oh well, it needed hosing down anyway.
As a sidenote, due to damage incurred years ago after draining the motor for winter, I realized there are pockets of water that can get into pumps and oil coolers, etc, that are difficult or impossible to drain for freeze protection. I know that just one night with the power off, and my warehouse could well be cold enough inside for a hard freeze. It's happened before due to ice storms. As a precaution I always run an antifreeze mix thorugh the motor and to be sure any liquid left inside is not pure water. This gets into all the thermostats, pumps, coolers, etc. At that point I'm able to do a drain down if I elect to do so.
When we fired the motors for a test and tune, It was obvious there was a lot of fluid still in the system. Fortunately the pipes were not pointing straight back like a cannon!
I'm ready for the water, it's just the schedule issue now and of course the weather.
