CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Response to That would be Mark Weller you're looking for

Hi Paul was right I was on Kelley's Island so I wasn't able to see the forum this weekend I don't know who said the Q motor number 1 cylinder is in the rear but mine is in the front left side first cylinder and he was right about the punch mark for timing it is to be timed at 500 rpm 10 degrees before top dead center or when you have the light on it the punch mark should be at the indicator the punch mark is 10 degrees btdc there will be multilple puch marks in the flywheel the port motor uses the L mark the Starboard uses the R mark. It helps if you put some red paint or something in the puch mark. By the way everone mine are now running fine the distrbutor was out of whack it was actually firing 2 cylinders at a time once I got it right no more problems and hey Paul both motors now start with out even touching the throttle All I do is turn the key and they start. Tim was amazed he said he has never seen motors that start that easy the boat sat for 2 weeks and Tim and I went on it Thursday night I told him watch this and reached down and turned the starboard motor key it didn't even make a full revolution and it started.

Also the Qmotor manual is here http://www.apyc.org/chriscraft/files.html
