CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Hi Brian,

The phone has been ringing off the hook and we've received emails from all over the place, some shared here, many not. The forum is here for two reasons: "fun, and sharing of information". Comments like yours are payment far in excess of the small amount of work it takes to host something like this is well worth it.

It was a royal "blast" to be out on the Cumberland running around like a couple of kids in a high powered vintage boat. I'm sure John Clemans and Bill Winn (our good friend and expert captain on the Hatteras)were having fun too.

I don't know if you noticed the one photo where they were right behind our boat looking in over the aft deck, while we were under way? In order to get that shot, we were asked to "just maintain a steady course down river", and they brought the Hatteras right up behind our boat, pacing us perfectly, and allowing John to get this shot.

I thought to myself "ohhh Lord, please don't let the motors fail now"!! Looking back at the Hatteras bearing down on us, about 10 feet away, was one of the more awesome mental images I have of boating. I wanted a photo of John standing out there on the bow pulpit, but I was there to DRIVE and not to take photos!

Here's a thread with more photos of John in action. http://www.network54.com/Forum/424840/message/1147911014

I don't know how many people are able to see the videos we shot, but here's the thread. It has a couple videos that help tell how much fun we had.
