Well actually the boat is a 35’ 1975 Catalina. But I have found a wealth of 350Q info on this site I like it here better. I inherited the boat from my dad last year when he passed. Though I was very familiar with it, he never wanted to get into any “real” work on it. It was more of his get away, dock rat place. I on the other hand hehehe…..
The history as I know it is boat was in Texas gulf till about the early 80’s then moved to freshwater. One of the engines was replaced before but don’t know which or when.
Both engines are blue though I am repainting to Chevy blue best I can. I am looking for decent looking functional not show room. Pics are of engine before tear down. If you like I can document what happens and run into as I go along.
I have new riser / manifolds and assoc. parts now, heads being redone and all new hoses. And I also have wire clips

Ready to put back together this weekend. I cleaned up the carbs but did not rebuild them, was worried that might be a little out of my league. My engines actually fired right up without pumping as long as they ran weekly. Before my engine ate water.

I would say the manifolds where 80% blocked and my number two exhaust spring broke. Which I think acted like a pump and pulled the water back. #8 was flooded and 6,4,and 2 were almost dry though I had a ton of water in the oil.
I will have to investigate the senders now and trace the wires. The one green wire from the sender that wraps around the floor stringer actually goes to the other engine I think. I will have to diagram them out.
As far as that exhaust part mine are not to bad except for the gasket surface. Maybe I will just get them refaced, I just like all new stuff together instead of a mix match. But I am getting close to my budget on this “unexpected” rework. At least I am documenting all work and parts in my maintenance and log book I created.
Thanks I will update progress
