CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Response to Motors on a 1975 Double Cabin

Hi,

Very interesting history lesson. I had no idea, I just picked up on it cause thats what everybody has called it since I've been around it. I will have to peruse the boat owners manual more closely. Where is this Essential Guide I have not heard of that?

But that aside, I love the look and layout of the boat. To me it has more inside room then you can shake a stick at for that size. And I love working on the engines inside, with tons of room to work. Greatly extends the time able to work on them due to weather or lighting also. Plus the stero and fridge are right there!

Both engines are blue I was told one was replaced or rebuilt in the past. But I see no traces of white any where on either engine. Painting cars in the past I think I would have noticed that. So I don't get it. Like you said as long as they run good.

Well..starting re-assembly this weekend. I have all the parts accounted for and a work assembly list so I hope things go smoothly. I put a lot of work in getting organized but, I am sure I will have a flurry of questions.

By the way I don't think I am going to rebuild the carbs right now. Though I did clean them up. Sound like maybe a good winter project though.

Thanks

Bill
