For that reason, you probably need the sliding glass door to secure the cabin. On an Express the outboard door design gets in the way, because there is another door to go through to get to the cabin. My boat actually had bifolding patio doors stained brown, arrgggghhhhhh, and yes, they were tossed in anger when we bought the boat (not necessarily because they enclosed the helm, but because the workmanship offended me, lol).
The overall design of the Sedan and SF are very well thought out. In the literature you'll note the Sedan and Express both came without flybridges, and that was an option. The SF, however, all of them came with the flybridge becuase of it's utility and function during fishing. All of them, flybridge or not, are very snappy boats! I know some of the purists like the non-flybridge purity of the original design, and I do too. Since mine presently has a flybridge and we enjoy the view, I guess I'll be keeping it.
