Response to Mark, ever consider using a pair of AFB's? |
| I don't think the AFB is anymore reliable than the AVS in all reality the only difference is how the secondaries open. Both carbuerators use what is called Air Vacumn Secondaries but the AFB uses a counter weight vs the AVS spring loaded mechanisim. Not much difference between the two if you look at an exploded diagram. I will do one thing this weekend I think and that is switch them around just to see what is going on. also I will try to find a couple of fuel pump rebuild kits for the pumps. If that doesn't work I do know a couple of very good mechanics one is the head mechainc for an offshore race boat team. The other was reccomended by a friend and with a name like Jeff Gordon you have to wonder how good he really is. Either way the boat is not due to go anywhere in the very near future but ti would be nice to have it running well for the next weekend when the wife is coming up again. I know she would like a ride at something better than displacement speed. |
