Interesting idea Paul I wonder if you could use a stock chevy intake the big issue is the forward distributor hmm your right about the heads they are stock 882 heads on my motor no different than any other 882 head. So could you take a stock intake and just turn it around to match up to the distributor? Inquiring minds want to know might have to go to the boat junk yard up in Port Clinton and see what the guy would want for a sbc 4 bbl intake just to try it. Would need a carb wedge to keep the carb level but that should be no big deal. I think I might be tempted to take a stab at this. What does any one else think? Keep the firing order the same as the stock motor or use the firing order from the intake? Standard is 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2 the Q's are LH 1 8 7 2 4 3 6 5 for the one the RH it is 1 5 6 3 4 2 7 8 Think the manifold would really care about the firing order? You seem to be worried about the flow and pulse of the intake to me it is just passages for air and fuel why would it care about which cylinder was sucking the air fuel mix when? As far as an air leak I know my port motor doesnt have on but its problems are defenitely electrical if you ask me. The stbd is another story after running fine all year now it seems like it is starving for fuel as it is surging rpm's and the harder you push the faster and more drastic the swings become. Another HMMMMMM. I am starting to wonder more and more about a set of 427's for this thing. I happen to know where I can get a pari for around $7800 with transmissions which I could then sell as my boat has the same transmissions as Tim does in his 35.
