Looking at the diagram, cam function is obvious

Response to DEPCO Pump Co., a great resource for parts (DATA SCANS)
Looking at the diagram this morning, thinking about ordering some parts.

The function of the cam just squeezes the water in the blades out, into the exit port. Look at the diagram, if the impellers are all loaded with water and the cam starts to squeeze the impellers, it forces the water out the exit port. Very simple and effective.
