CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Response to Very nice boat you found !

Hi

Thank you, I am very happy with the boat so far. Itīs a shame that I have to put it on the hard now for the long winter. There are quite a few of them here in Stockholm but mostly the I/O version.
The boat came on itīs own trailer so I asked the seller to winterize and to put shrink wrap plastic around it. I found a company on the internet that helped me ship the boat from Detroit to Baltimore harbour (I think I was about $1100). Then for the shipping over the Atlantic I think I payed around $2800. There are a lot of Volvo cars being shipped from Sweden every week so basically they just roll the boat onboard one of those ships on it's way back to Sweden. And then when the boat arrived to Sweden I picked it up for a 16 hours drive to it's new destination in Stockholm. That trip normally takes about 6 hours but I hade to go real slow since the trailer didn't have any working brakes. And it was very hard not to stop the car and rip away the shrink wrap so that I could have a look at the boat

It was a bite of an adventure but it was fun and luckily it turned out well.

Regards

Rickard
