| Welcome to the forum fellow Swede! (My mother's maiden name is Munson, and the Pletscher side of the family came from the Swiss German border.) They changed the spelling when they came over in 1753. Not entirely sure when the Munsons came to the US, but I'm proud of my Swedish heritage.
I've noticed an increase in readership from Sweden recently and perhaps it was you reading some of the info here? We're glad to have you and your Lancer friends, and any Chris Craft Commander friends you may have too.
This forum is primarily for the Commander, but I firmly believe that "variety is the spice of life" and since just about all the Commander owners I know also love the old wood boats, the Lancers, Corsairs, Roamers, etc., we welcome everyone even though we maintain a focus on the Commander. You're welcome to post here any time, and we APPRECIATE your notes, and the great photos!
The Lancer is a pretty hot topic here lately, as you have discovered, especially because it's basically a 23 Commander with a different badge.
That V70 looks a little light on the front end! You are a better man than I, if you drove for six hours without ripping off the shrink wrap! That would have been very tough. At least I hope you cut a hole to look inside!
The boat looks great in the water, and you are wise and fortunate to have found a true inboard, as I find them a little more desirable. The transdrive models have the advantage of being able to be beached, and drive into very shallow water, but where I do my boating the inboard version is the preference.
The when you factor in the price of the boat, assuming general market value, and the shipping, you are still so far ahead of a new boat it's not funny. You also have a classic style that everyone will be admiring. Congratulations!
Regards,
Paul
