That 350Q is a great running motor. The small block Chevrolet motor is one of "the" easiest of all to work on. However, the Q motor has some very specific deviations from all other small block Chevy motors, including it's own different cylinder identification, different timing, different cam, and of course that very specific intake manifold. If you do any work on that motor be sure not to assume it's a generic small block Chevy. The good news is, there are a lot of them in boats, and we have a resident expert here (Mark Weller) who is actually in the process (this weekend in fact) of pulling his 350Q motor for a rebuild, due to the fact that the camshaft was worn out. Hopefully you'll never have to pull your motor for any reason, and that is quite possible, because with good care and good oil they'll almost run forever.
If you ever need any assistance in diagnosis, parts, running temperatures, fluids, etc., we can certainly give you some help, because your motor is identical to many we are running in the Commanders.
The Forum has some contacts in Sweden with Peter Bruun “carbguy” who knows all about that Carter AVS carb you probably have, here is his thread

In addition, we have a friend in Germany, Theo, who has access to all the American auto parts, and I’m sure you have specialty shops in Sweden that can do all of this work too. This particular thread shows his rebuild of a motor that is probably pretty rare in Germany, the MEL 430 (Mercury/Edsel/Lincoln), which was used in early 38’ Commanders and many Chris Craft speedboats too. Here is Theo’s thread, out of general interest, as there aren’t any Lancers running this big chunk of iron!
