CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Hello Rick, the Q motors have a lot of special tuning requirements

Response to 327Q Specs Needed (Help !)

You are right, the Q motors have different timing requirements from any other SBC. Don't ask why, we don't know, lol.

Your post is on a thread about the "F" motor, which is different than the Q. Roy posted the proper image for the Q, and you'll see it is different from the F (thanks Roy).

Stranger things have happened than having an automotive guy try to make one run with conventional SBC timing and wiring. The Q motor is a great series. I have access to all the info, some of it is on board a family member's boat. Most of what you will need is already here on the forum.

This would be your first hunting ground for info

To save you some time hunting, here is a link from Forum 350Q expert, Mark Weller (it's the entire manual in PDF form) (thanks Mark)

As you work through your issues, please feel free to ask any questions, etc., and we'll help you any way we can.
