CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Response to Day two.........the photo boat driver emerges !

Yes, indeed, it's a 330 hp Interceptor version of the marine 427, as furnished to Century Inboard Boats in 1965 (one year before Chris Craft adopted the 427 for heir own use in 300-hp tune).

She did a great job, too, as Tom and I sat back and enjoyed the ride. Yes, we got a little wet when we faced into the wind and got a gust or two off the starboard bow, but hey, we enjoyed getting that spray in the face.

The boat was a 1965 Cenury, the power was from Interceptor, the motor was a 330-hp version of the 427, and it ran beautifully. We ran from Lake Dora over through the inlet into the neighboring lake and burned up some fuel there. Janet drove most of the trip, doing a great job. I will post some videos of this trip later, but for now here are the stills. I will also post some photos of Tom Crawford, the owner of the boat, who resides in Ft. Lauderdale, and to whom we are forever grateful for sharing his boat with us. Thanks Tom, we also enjoyed your company this eve at dinner!

Regards, all the best, Paul and Janet
