I don't think there is anything special about #6

Response to #6 again?
I've never heard about a liability in the Ford FE cylinder head regarding valve #6. This is a pure coincidence, in my opinion. It's a generally bullet-proof design. With the low spring pressure of the marine/industrial application, as opposed to the higher pressure of the big horsepower motors, we're in good shape. Just keep checking those valves on a regular basis and don't worry about #6 being hexed.
