I was having overheating difficulties with my 1966 40' Chris Craft Constellation Salon and a friend of mine with a newer boat (his is fiberglass, mine is wood) told me about the pressure regulator and sent me a link to this site. I am running small block Cheys, and we wer fine at cruising speeds, but cooking at idle coming into the harbor. Impellers didn't help.
I pulled the hose off the regulator and stuck my finger and pushed against the valve. It was obvious it was open with debris. After removal and clean up, just like your pictures, the valve was reinstalled. I did all of them, yes, all 4 of them. Boat is cool as a cucumber now at idle.
Good information, thank you. You guys have a good thing going here!
