CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

REPEAT AGAIN IN 2009
at
HURON YACHT CLUB and BOAT BASIN
Huron, Ohio
August 21 - 23
2009

~~~*~~~
The Worlds Largest Gathering
of
Chris Craft Commanders !
Here are the details for 2009, check it out!
http://www.chriscraftcommander.org
The fond memories are still vivid in our minds from August of 2008,
where the second biggest event in Chris Craft Commander history occurred,
those memories are now feeding excitement and planning for the repeat in 2009.
The largest impact in Commander history occurred in 1964 when the new 38 fiberglass express
was unveiled at the New York Boat Show, after having been designed and shipped in secret.
Thanks to the initiative and hard work of Matt ODonnell and Tim Toth,
and many others who helped in some way,
including everyone who attended with or without their boats,
the 2008 event at the Huron Yacht Club and Boat Basin was the largest gathering on record
of the Chris Craft Commanders, and without a doubt, the most fun.
We are going to try to break the record again in 2009 at the same location !
Here is a montage of images I tossed together quickly, to show a small fraction of the boats,
people, good will, and just plain fun we had on Lake Erie last August 2008.
You could title this Only in America.
Perhaps it should be titled Only in Huron. happy.gif
I'm very pleased to be a part of all this fun, and to be able to associate with people of this calibre. It is the best of traditional family values in America, combined with the best of boating anywhere. Part of my job, in support to the others involved with the planning and local coordination, is to be sure the word gets out on the world-wide web about this event. This is being done now through various means, including this post! Much more will follow. We had such fun in 2008, it's just too much fun not to share with people around the world, and with people who may attend in person in 2009. In fact, I would say to anyone anywhere in the USA or over seas, if you are a boating fan, and especially if you are a CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER OWNER you should really consider hopping on a plane and heading for the Toledo Airport (small, friendly, cars are right there at your doorstep) or the Cleveland Airport (a little closer to Huron, bigtime airport), and join us in the fun. Both are within easy driving distance to Huron, Ohio on Lake Erie. It may be the biggest boating event of your lifetime, maybe not in the ultimate size because some "boat shows" can get very large, but most certainly in quality, classy accommodations, fabulous boats, and especially in the quality of people you'll be privleged to associate with. Remember, this isn't a "boat show", it's a rendezvous, and there is a big difference! Yes, indeed, it's simply that good.
Cheers to all, I'm sure looking forward to seeing everyone there!
