Hi I very much enjoyed your article and pics...
I remember very well the 427's particularily side oilers of the day... (my favorite motor).
My question is however are you certain that ALL marine 427 used by CC
were in fact the ones wi/ crossbolt mains?

oh.. I saw a picture of a 427 with catch tank resevoir on top
..Am I to assume that that motor had the "closed loop cooling system"
as an option...
And I hope not to ruffle any feathers... but I am of the opinion that the MEL 430 is "somewhat" more inherently suitable as a all around long distance long lived work motor...any thoghts on that?
