I am reading the book "White Hurricane" about the November 1913 storm that hit the Great Lakes. BRUTAL!!! I imagine a lot of you who grew up and live there have heard many stories about this storm. 90MPH wind, 50' waves close together, in the middle of a blizzard, YIKES. There were many ships and lives lost. You folks are a lot tougher than I am cause anything less than 50 is cold to me. I have a much better understanding of the potential danger of boating on those lakes now that I read this book. We have our hurricanes down here but they are not COLD! Thank goodness for modern day weather forecasts and electronics, you need them for sure on the big lakes.
