Response to Anyone tapped a #1409 for the PVC system? |
| James,
I did not as my 1409 is on an engine with out the PVC system. Hopefully someone else will chime in on this.
Does the carb have a boss in the baseplate large enough to drill that big of a hole. That would be where to start. You could call Edelbrock tech line and ask as well.
You might want to consider drilling and tapping into the intake manifold (be sure to get the shavings out). All you need is a manifold vaccum source which is basically what you are picking up at the base of the carb if you were to drill it. Does your manifold have any existing pipe plug fittings which you could remove and screw in 3/8" hose barb fitting. That would be simple. Another idea is to forget the PVC and just use the hoses coming from the valve covers to the flame arrestor system.
