As Janet and Emma headed up to Cedar Creek to meet up with her family, I decided I would go out today and get rid of a little more work stress with the Skiff. As I drove up to the launching ramp at Commodore Yacht Club, by buddy and ex Commodore showed up and asked about the boat. "Where did you get THAT?" I said "up on Lake Ontario". Since he's a Canadian by birth he took note, came over looked the boat over and thought it was cool I said, "wannna go for a ride?" and he said, "yeah, I have nothing to do today", so off we went. We ran down to Gower Island and back, an enjoyablee cruise at 2500 to 3000 with a burst now and then to show off up to 4000 rpm. The 327F ran great but it started hard. I had to crank and crank even with the new 1409 Edelbrock with the choke butterfly all the way closed. Strange, that's how she goes. I must be getting some sort of a siphon back action with this setup, due to the way my fuel hose is low, I'll bet a box of doughnuts that's the issue. Once it started, however, it ran like a real champ. We talked all the way down and back, about the boat, the way it took the wakes, other boaters, people we knew, a few stories on the side, it was just a fun day for a couple off guys to be out on the water killing a little time and having some fun. I was glad to have the company and he helped me launch and retrieve the boat. Fun times in beautiful weather in Central Tennessee.
Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Independence Day holiday!
