CHRIS CRAFT COMMANDER FORUM ® .......A photo-intensive technical reference file and ongoing newsletter regarding the original fiberglass Chris Craft Commander. Our mission at this independent not-for-profit non-commercial web site is to "have fun and share information" for your individual personal use. Our main reference feature is the ever expanding MASTER INDEX Files which contain exhaustive photo and technical information on the Chris Craft Commander line (like these original brochure scans, featuring the iconic 38 Commander designed by Fred Hudson) , (an awesome collection of Chris Craft 427 tuning and specification information), and a few words about how to use the information in the forum, etc. Be sure to look at the information about the 2009 Lake Erie Chris Craft Commander / Roamer Rendezvous, second year in a row at Huron, Ohio, held in August of 2009 !! If you're a Commander fan, this will be an event you won't want to miss next time around.

We extend to you a cordial "WELCOME ABOARD !"

Response to 350CU engine

Hello Pedro, a big hello from the United States, and a hearty "WELCOME ABOARD".

You're at the right place and we'll be happy to assist any way we can.

There are numerous Small Block Chevy motors out there, and they're basically the same engine but when it comes to the Q series there were some major deviations that still make us wonder "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING"?

The Q series uses a special intake manifold.

There is not a 350CU to my knowledge, and it may actually be a Crusader motor so look carefully at the photos we have. A 283 exhaust manifold will fit any of the SBC motors.

In a Riva, I am wondering if you have the 350FLV? The 350 by the way, is the first of the small block Chevy motors (SBC) to have the 4-bolt main bearing caps. A strong and capable motor in every way, very rebuildable and good parts supply.

The 350FLV is a hot motor put in the XK series boats. It uses the standard Chevy intake manifolds, and it looks identical to my 327F in my little 1966 Sea Skiff.

Here are some photos

Here is a 350FLV, if you look closely you can see it on the ID tag.

Here is another 350FLV

Here is what the Q intake looks like,

Here is where you can find parts for the Q or the F series, once we find out what you really have.

If you are unable to upload photos directly via a photo host on the internet, just email them to me at chriscraftcommander@hotmail.com and I'll post them for you.
